The Dillard Men’s Tennis Team Falls To Loyola University New Orleans, 5-2, on Wednesday

New Orleans – The Dillard University men's tennis team (0-2) put up a strong fight in falling to Loyola University New Orleans by a 5-2 score on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 16, at the courts at the City Park Tennis Center.

"We got off the steering block finally today with the guys and to accomplish that in such a short time is all credit to their resilience and getting my message," head coach Meenakshi Sundaram. "We lost the war today, but won a couple of key battles that will help keep get us on the track we need to be on. Great work by Kaavya Palani today as she continues to surprise herself although not me. Overall it was a great day to be a Bleu Devil! Allez !!"

The Bleu Devils lost the first doubles point with Albert Segura - Felix Hamp losing to Loyola's Remos Balan - Aubin Duchler 6-1.

The third DU's doubles team of Pranav Mehta - Boris Aguma won over Fillip Hovland - Theo Debackere 6-5

DU's second doubles team of Youssef Berrajah - Yassine Ben Jemaa fell to Paco Arce - Herman Aure 6-4.

In singles play, Aguma fell to Arce in the top spot 6-4 and 6-2

In the second-seed, Dillard's Segura won by scores of 7-5, 4-6 and 11-9 over Balan.

The third-seed was another Dillard victory as Ben Jemaa won 5-7, 6-4 and 10-8 over Aure.

Loyola's Duchler defeated Hamp 6-1 and 6-1 in the fourth-seed.

Dillard's Mehta lost 6-0 and 6-2 to Debackere in the fifth.

DU's Berrajah fell in the sixth 6-4 and 7-6 to Diego Rodriguez

Next, the DU men comes home to Bleu Devil Courts to host Mississippi University for Women on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m.
