K'Mon Washington, Sophomore, Shatters School Record
NEW ORLEANS (September 2, 2025)– On August 29, the cross country season officially started. Sophomore sensation K'mon Washington started the season on the right foot by smashing the men's 5k record with an impressive time of 18:02. The previous record was held by 2024 graduate Devonte Williams. Williams finished the 5k with a time of 18:52.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in his athletic career and showcases his dedication to the sport. Washington's performance not only highlights his individual talent, but also sets a high standard for his teammates. His time stands out against his peers, illustrating the effort and training he has put in to reach this level.
The competition among K'Mon Washington's teammates has also driven remarkable results. Phillip Isaac finished the race in 18:58.52, while Kydell Miner crossed the line at 19:15.67. Other Bleu Devils, such as Khel Arvie and Elijah Williams, provided strong performances as well.
