Dillard rolls past Lemoyne-Owen, 8–0, behind early barrage and Price’s shutout
NEW ORLEANS (2/19/26) — Dillard wasted little time taking control Wednesday afternoon, scoring in each of the first three innings and riding a complete-game shutout from Kylie Price to an 8–0 win over Lemoyne-Owen on Feb. 19.
Dillard's offense produced 11 hits and pushed across eight runs in 4.2 innings before the game ended in the bottom of the fifth. The Bleu Devils struck first in the opening inning when Grace Hunter drove in Kyiera Torrence with an RBI single for a 1–0 lead.
The decisive swing came in the second. Amayiah Franklin's two-run double made it 3–0, and Dillard kept piling on as Torrence ripped an RBI triple and Price followed with an RBI single, stretching the advantage to 5–0. Dillard added two more in the third on an RBI single from Haley Weatherspoon and a sacrifice fly by Franklin, who finished with three RBIs.
By the fifth, Dillard had already put the game out of reach. Brooklyn Baltzell brought home another run with an RBI groundout, capping the scoring at 8–0.
In the circle, Price was in command throughout, working five scoreless innings while allowing seven hits and one walk and striking out four. Lemoyne-Owen put multiple runners on at times—collecting seven hits total—but couldn't cash in, leaving six on base.
For Dillard, Torrence set the tone at the top with a 2-for-3 day, two runs scored and an RBI, while Mhallayah Picou went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Hunter added a pair of hits and an RBI, and Franklin delivered the key extra-base hit while driving in three.
Lemoyne-Owen's Brownlee (3-for-3) and Harvey (2-for-3) accounted for five of the visitors' seven hits, but Dillard's early pressure and clean defense (no errors) kept the contest firmly in the home team's hands.
