Bio
Coach Jose Taitague is a respected multi-sport coach and administrator with a proven record of competitive success, academic excellence, and player development at the collegiate, national, and club levels.
A native of Guam, Coach Taitague brings a global perspective and a commitment to holistic athlete development. He earned a business degree from Georgia Military College, blending leadership, organization, and strategic planning into every role he serves.
Coach Taitague served as the Head Softball Coach at Paine College from 2023 to 2025, after previously working as the program’s Assistant Softball Coach from 2021 to 2023. In his first season as head coach, he led the Lions to historic achievements, including the South Region NCCAA Championship in 2023, the first region title and first World Series appearance in program history. His teams followed up with a 2nd-place finish in the South Region NCCAA in 2025, cementing Paine College as a competitive force.
Under his leadership, Paine College softball excelled both on the field and in the classroom. His teams produced two valedictorians, three Female Athletes of the Year, three Female Scholar Athletes of the Year, earned the highest team GPA twice, and received the Team Leadership Award in 2023. Athletically, his players earned All-American honors, numerous All-Conference selections, and consistent postseason recognition.
On the international stage, Coach Taitague served as an Assistant Coach for the Dominican Republic Women’s National Softball Team in 2024, helping the team secure a Bronze Medal at the Bolivarian Games.
In addition to softball, Coach Taitague has extensive coaching experience across multiple sports. He coached baseball with Complete Game (2019–2023), served as head coach of the Augusta Eagles homeschool baseball program (2016–2021), and coached club volleyball with Metro Elite Volleyball Club (2020–2023). In 2025, he expanded his collegiate leadership by becoming the Head Volleyball Coach at Paine College.
Beyond coaching, Coach Taitague is the Co-Owner and Director of Softball Operations for Max Level Prospects, a player development and recruiting organization dedicated to helping athletes reach the next level. He also served as Sports Information Director at Paine College from 2022 to 2025, further demonstrating his versatility and commitment to collegiate athletics.
Known for his player-centered approach, emphasis on academics, and ability to build winning cultures, Coach Jose Taitague continues to impact athletes and programs through leadership, mentorship, and excellence.
