Lemoyne-Owen College Edges Out Dillard in Homecoming Game
NEW ORLEANS– (October 31, 2025) In an exhilarating basketball matchup, Lemoyne-Owen College narrowly defeated Dillard University with a final score of 67-62, leveling their season record to 1-1. The game, held at Dillard's home court in New Orleans, witnessed a see-saw battle, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final buzzer.
The first quarter saw Dillard take a slight lead, ending at 16-12. However, Lemoyne-Owen College fought back in the second quarter, closing the gap to just one point as Dillard led 38-35 at halftime. The third quarter remained competitive, with Dillard maintaining a 57-49 edge. The final quarter turned the tide for Lemoyne-Owen, as they dominated with an 18-5 run to secure their victory.
Lemoyne-Owen's offense was led by starters Marley Freeman and Antieya Brown, each contributing 12 points. Janara Williams also played a significant role, scoring 12 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. From the bench, K'Myri Johnson added valuable support with 7 points in just 12 minutes.
Dillard's Kiara Howard was the standout player of the game, leading all scorers with 20 points and adding 6 assists.
