Lady Bleu Devils Add another Conference Win
NEW ORLEANS– Dillard used a dominant third quarter and a massive rebounding edge to pull away late and beat Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) 78–73 on Tuesday evening at SUNO.
The matchup was tight early, with the teams even at 17–17 after the first quarter. SUNO carried that momentum into halftime by winning the second period 21–17 to take a 38–34 lead at the break.
The game turned decisively after intermission. Dillard exploded for 26 points in the third quarter while holding SUNO to 16, flipping the four-point deficit into a six-point advantage (60–54) entering the fourth. SUNO tried to rally in the final period (19–18), but Dillard's work on the glass and steady late execution preserved the five-point win.
