NEW ORLEANS – On September 5, 2025, the Dillard University volleyball team showcased an impressive performance against Mississippi Valley State (MVSU) at Dent Hall, sweeping their opponents in straight sets (25-22, 25-14, 25-15). This victory improves Dillard's record to 2-2 for the season, while MVSU falls to 1-2.
The match kicked off with a competitive first set, where MVSU made a strong start but eventually succumbed to Dillard's relentless offense, losing 22-25. Dillard's efficiency shone through with a hitting percentage of .216, powered by key players like Neveah Bax and Cadence Thomas, who led the team with eight and nine kills, respectively.
Dillard's momentum continued into the second set, where their offensive and defensive prowess overwhelmed MVSU, sealing the set 25-14. MVSU struggled with consistency and efficiency, recording a .000 hitting percentage during the set. Notably, Madisen Fobbs emerged as a crucial asset for Dillard, delivering a flawless performance with nine kills out of 13 attempts, boasting a remarkable .692 hitting percentage.
The third set mirrored the previous ones, as Dillard capitalized on MVSU's errors and maintained their aggressive play, closing the match with a 25-15 win.
