Dillard Dominates Stillman in HBCUAC Volleyball Quarterfinals
BOSSIER CITY, LA - November 10, 2025 - The Dillard University volleyball team showcased their prowess with a convincing 3-0 victory over Stillman College at the Billy Montgomery Gymnasium. The Dillard Bleu Devils, improving their season record to 16-8, overwhelmed the Stillman Tigers (5-15) in straight sets, with scores of 25-9, 29-27, and 25-17.
Dillard's offensive efficiency was evident throughout the match, posting a team hitting percentage of .283 compared to Stillman's .080. Sarai Rogers led the Bleu Devils with an impressive performance, tallying 10 kills on 18 attempts, resulting in a .444 hitting percentage. Gabrielle Washington also played a crucial role, contributing 7 kills with a .400 hitting percentage.
The second set was the most competitive, with Stillman pushing Dillard to a 29-27 finish. However, Dillard's ability to capitalize on critical points, aided by Cadence Thomas's powerful attacks, proved decisive. Thomas was particularly effective, recording 6 kills on 7 attempts, achieving a staggering .857 hitting percentage.
Stillman's Kelis Conley tried to spark her team with 6 kills and a .308 hitting percentage, but it was not enough to overcome Dillard's balanced attack. Ava Cameron also added 9 kills for the Tigers, but the team struggled with consistency, committing 22 errors over the three sets.
